MASLab 2003 Teams
Ten teams participated in the third annual MASLab Robotics contest. The teams ranged in size from two to four students and each team approached the robotics problem in a unique way. Some teams with more of a mechanical engineering background built complicated target retrevial systems, while other teams with more of a computer science background investigated using advanced image processing algorithms. The end result was a wide variety of robots in terms of both appearance and strategy.
This year MASLab presented three awards. Team 1's StatacenterBot was selected as the Best Dressed Robot by an audience secret ballot, and Team 10 with their robot named BOB won first place in the actual competition. Team 11 and their Paddy Wagon claimed the MASLab Engineering Award which is selected by the staff to reward clever and innovative engineering.
